Industrial Design

Professional Electives

The Industrial Design program requires (6) credit hours of professional elective credit. Professional elective requirements can be fulfilled through various courses throughout campus. The following subjects are encouraged: Material Science, Wood Science, Ceramics, Photography, Metals and Metal Processes, Marketing, Technical Writing, Public Speaking, Sculpture, Color Theory and Digital Art. Please see Vern Ferguson (201 Cowgill Hall) or send via e-mail to the course chosen from the following list you wish to use as a Professional Elective.

Alternative professional elective courses may be substituted in coordination with the Chair of the Industrial Design Program. Please submit request form to Vernon Ferguson (201 Cowgill Hall) or send via e-mail to if you are requesting professional elective credit for a new course that does not appear on the approved list.
